ARTIST STATEMENT

I‘m sure the first words I could say as a child were „How?“ and „Why?“. My whole life has been one of endless curiosity, eager questioning, and constant inquiry. I have a deep-rooted, existential need for a holistic understanding of my perceptions. The correlations and context. In relation to society, behavior, emotions, psychology, cultural influences and historical events. In asking and questioning I always pursue a radical, conceptual approach, which shows, without exception in my work.

My art is both a reflection of my inner conflicts and an attempt to formulate, to visualize, the essence of my understanding. The act of creative dissection enables me to make the unknown more understandable. Visible. The questions behind the questions. Sometimes also the conclusions. Primarily for myself, but also as an invitation to discussion. My works give an insight into my personal dialogue with the known and the unknown. The understandable and the often incomprehensible.

BIOGRAPHY

Fabienne Lange is a multi-disciplinary conceptual artist who creates thought-provoking artwork that speaks to the human experience. She has an extensive background in interior architecture, graphic design, carpentry and set design, which has enabled her to bring a unique perspective to her art. Her work is always characterized by a sensuous, minimalist aesthetic and political content, often dealing with her personal family history, the influences of World War II, and the notion of what home is. She typically sources her materials from items that can be found in the streets, giving her pieces a unique texture and feel.

Lange’s art has been described as “deeply personal and politically charged”, and her goal is to challenge viewers to think about the world around them and how it affects our lives. She hopes to inspire conversations that can lead to positive change and greater understanding of our shared experiences.
